Legrand – A B2B Firm Looking for a Consumer Agency

Legrand was primarily a B2B firm but saw an opportunity to move into the direct-to-consumer space.  They needed an affordable agency that could help them accomplish this.

Situation/Background
Legrand is a global manufacturer and marketer of electronic components, consumer electronics devices, and home networking systems. Legrand was looking to find an agency that could help them launch a new line of consumer products. Legrand approached RSW/AgencySearch with very specific requirements in terms of experience and know-how in the segment.

Search Requirements
Legrand was looking for an agency that had strong B2C experience, strong experience marketing products in big box store environments and could bring a solid background in home building products to the table. The agency needed to be a strong full-service agency, but needed exceptionally strong skills in the digital and analytics space. RSW/AgencySearch delivered an initial list of 10 agencies to the table for consideration, narrowed the search to 4 after the RFI phase, and organized a set of questions for each agency to address during a final pitch presentation.

Agency Selection
GravitySix was ultimately selected to manage the new launch for Legrand. The assignment was approximately and spanned a number of different media. The selection was made in June, 2011 and things are reported on both sides to be working very well.
